What We Do
Time To Trestle campaign is raising community awareness for the City’s Trestle Rehabilitation Project. This project will create a beautiful riverfront promenade and will increase City revenues through increased tourism and taxes.
What we would use at $5,000 grant for:
To encourage the City to complete this project, we ask for financial assistance to create marketing materials for this awareness campaign.
We Need Volunteers
Petaluma Woman’s Club (PWC)’s Time To Trestle (TTT) campaign will be holding fundraising events once the community awareness campaign encourages the City to support this project with funds and staffing. We ask for volunteer help with fundraiser events – 10 to 15 people. These events will be arranged on a flexible schedule. People with fundraising event experience would be greatly appreciated!
Success Stories
PWC has been active in informing Petalumans of the value of Trestle Rehabilitation project. We have participated in
- the 2022 Rivertown Revival,
- 2022 Butter and Egg Days,
- the 2022 Craft Beer Festival,
- and the 2022 Lagunitas gathering of the Friends of the Petaluma River.
We have over 400 signatures on a Petition to the City to declare support for rehabilitation of the Trestle; we are meeting individually with City Council members; we are presenting the need for support of this project at City Council meetings; we are meeting with City officials; and we are writing editorials for the Argus and Press Democrat. We plan to have a float in the 2023 Butter & Egg Days parade. When the weather turns nicer, we have permission to set up TTT campaign information at the Riverfront Café.
PWC’s goal is to have a coalition of community organizations and the community at large encourage the City to move forward on this stalled project. Thank you for your consideration of assisting us in this effort.
The Trestle Rehabilitation Project has been shelved for too long. It’s Time To Trestle!
