We plant native trees in Petaluma to improve the environmental health of the Petaluma watershed, shelter wildlife, enrich our lives and save the planet. ReLeaf Petaluma has the goal to plant native trees to combat climate change, increase biodiversity, expand the urban forest, decrease heat islands, and vitalize the watershed. We are happy to have robust community support in the way of partnering organizations, volunteers, city collaboration, and a dedicated board. We are actively looking for financial assistance to continue and expand our reach and impact.
ReLeaf Petaluma would like to seek
funding to enable the creation of a
“walkable forest” that would be sited
near the River or in selected
residential areas.
This demonstration project would
increase education opportunities
about the benefits of trees, showcase
the difference trees can make in a
variety of locations, and
simultaneously clean air and provide
shade in the Summer heat.
ReLeaf also depends of local
donations to support our ongoing
tool acquisition and event
resources programs. Specific
small grants for these purposes
can be developed collaboratively.
ReLeaf is proud to
have numerous core
volunteers that
dedicate themselves
to ReLeaf work year
round.
ReLeaf planting
events draw large
volunteer groups from
the community. Event
days range from
80-200 volunteers per
day.
Planting events are
scheduled during the
planting season;
October-March.
We welcome new volunteers to join. Volunteer duties involve a
variety of activities, such as;
● Planting trees
● Watering
● Tree Maintenance
● Check In
● Hospitality
● Truck Driving
● Clean Up
